To me, that seems like a simple (or actually not so simple) hardware
problem. If I were receiving such errors, I'd make sure that I'm not
overclocking, then I'd change my RAM, set up conservative settings in the
BIOS, and see what happens. Step by step swapping hardware components
until the faulty one is found helps.

If you really made no changes to your hardware then this is odd. I
compiled and installed 4.4-STABLE yesterday without problems (cvsupped and
compiled it on a Pentium machine that just previously had been set up with
a new hard disk and 4.4-RELEASE).

Anyway, I'd still recommend having a look for probable causes of the
problems on the haredware side...
