Are you implying that just because something is popular it is well-engineered? There is less than 1" of space above the cpu in a 1U unit, which doesnt leave enough space for an approproate heat-sink and fan for high Mhz cpu. Yes they will run, and may never fail, but they are not as reliable as 2U units which allow for a more appropriate heat sink and larger fans.
