The following reply was made to PR kern/89522; it has been noted by GNATS. From: "Internet Partners, Inc. Tech Support" <support@ipinc.net> To: <bug-followup@FreeBSD.org>, <petefrench@ticketswitch.com> Cc: Subject: Re: kern/89522: 6.0-RELEASE will not boot on some Compaqs with mouse connected Date: Wed, 31 Jan 2007 14:38:47 -0800 We sucessfully loaded FreeBSD 6.1 on our Compaq 1600R We had to build a custom kernel and custom install CD with the custom kernel because there is NO WAY to completely remove or disable the usb driver unless you rebuild the kernel and comment out the device driver. Setting the usb disable flags in the boot config doesen't disable the driver probe.
