Bingo! Well, sort of. I had "mic" as my record device and changes it to the
only other option, "monitor. Now I get sound, but I am getting both the
audio from the web site and from the microphone. I set the mic gain to 0:0,
but I still hear the sounds in the room. I'm just guessing that my audio
device setup is wrong.

I have the following mixer setup:
> mixer
Mixer vol is currently set to 100:100
Mixer pcm is currently set to 100:100
Mixer speaker is currently set to 100:100
Mixer mic is currently set to 0:0
Mixer rec is currently set to 1:1
Mixer monitor is currently set to 75:75
Recording source: monitor

I've tried tweaking various settings, but I can't avoid picking up room
sounds. I would also like to record without thee speakers playing, but l
found no way to turn off the speakers and still get audio. Makes me wonder
whether the audio I was recording was picked up by the mic from the
speakers.

and the following sound card setup:
# Setup headphones
# Out : speaker + headphones
hint.hdac.0.cad0.nid25.config="as=1 seq=15"
# In : mic + external mic
hint.hdac.0.cad0.nid35.config="as=2"
hint.hdac.0.cad0.nid27.config="as=2 seq=15"

I'm going to play with the "mic + external mic" setup though I did this
years ago and I think I had help.
