-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 One of the users here at work reported that after he did a binary upgrade from 5.2.1 to 5.3-BETA3 (using posted ISOs), libc.so.5 and libcrypto.so were not upgraded. libc.so.5 had an old timestamp, and libcrypto.so.3 was not written to the system. Here are his exact words: "i burnt the iso [and] booted from it. i chose upgrade. all file in /lib were upgraded except libc.so.5 and libcrpto.so.2(5.3 uses v3). they had old time stamps. it is like a hit on your head when you compile. it sayd crt1.o refers to unknown _init_ils(or so). many commands like w and man didnt work. all is fine after i manually install the lib." I have not tried to replicate this, but perhaps this is something other users can test.
