Hmmm... Do you have DNS setup correctly? It's possible that the
problem is due to Apache trying to do a reverse DNS on the connecting
client and waiting for that to happen.
If you have the status_module compiled in, use that to see if it's
in the DNS stage. Also, you could try editing httpd.conf to set
hostname-lookups to Off and reHUPing Apache.
