Well, I just tried the 'Matrix' DVD, and that works fine for me:

/dev/cd0c        7957     7957        0   100%    /cdrom

/dev/cd0c on /cdrom (cd9660, NFS exported, local, read-only)

Played a bit with the html stuff contained on the DVD, no issues
