Hello guys, Recently, I have bought a pcmcia gige ethernet card and it seems it is re(4) based. However, when I plug the card into the slot, I get the following messages on my console: re0: <RealTek 8169/8169S/8169SB(L)/8110S/8110SB(L) Gigabit Ethernet> port 0x1000-0x10ff mem 0x88000000-0x880000ff irq 21 at device 0.0 on cardbus0 re0: Chip rev. 0x18000000 re0: MAC rev. 0x00000000 re0: PHY write failed re0: PHY write failed re0: PHY read failed re0: MII withot any phy! device_attach: re0 attach returned 6 Do you have any ideas how can I try to work this out? It is the most recent installation of PC-BSD, i.e. FreeBSD 7.1-PRERELEASE Thu Sep 11 09:07:25 EDT 2008 i386. pciconf -lv lists: re0@pci0:4:0:0: class=0x020000 card=0x816910ec chip=0x816910ec rev=0x10 hdr=0x00 vendor = 'Realtek Semiconductor' device = 'RTL8110SB Single-Chip Gigabit LOM Ethernet Controller' class = network subclass = ethernet If you need any more information, please let me know. Your help is greatly appreciated! -- Best regards, Daniel mailto:danger@FreeBSD.org
