Such annotations might be useful. However, most (all?) of them will be in the X00yyy, since we usually only demote code to compat status on -head. Users would likely almost always set this value to X00000. Furthermore, you can't pick which of the things removed in release X are omitted arbitrarily, just a point in a list. This suggests, to my mind at least, that we're adding extra complexity in selecting compatibility bits, but not really providing much value add for that complexity. Am I missing something? Warner
