I'm not running a debug kernel. I can get the sources easy enough from the CD, but will I get a backtrace? I could ftp the vmcore file some expert to look at instead? Note: that the gmirror device disconnects do not usually cause a system crash. Just only crashed this time for some reason. And it does seem that larger files can cause this to happen - on my hardware anyway.
