Half right.  HP is the standard for PCL, Adobe *IS* the standard for
postscript.  HP uses Adobe licensed postscript, but then so do a dozen
other printer manufactures.  Don't touch a postscript printer that does
not have an Adobe licensed version of postscript.

None of this has anything to do with the Intel x86 architecure, that
comment was irrelevant to the conversation!!!
