So far it has worked great. That's until I unplugged one of the array members. The system boots up fine from the second disk,=20 but the problem ... I can't get atacontrol to rebuild the mirror onto = the disk that was removed.=20 I have tried every command on the atacontrol man page, but to no avail. OS : FreeBSD 4.10=20 System : P3 IDE controller : Intel ICH2 ATA100 controller=20 and 2 x 40 GB disks. On FreeBSD 5 atacontrol has an additional command "addspare" that I = have used with success to=20 add a disk to a RAID1 array and rebuild it. Now that you know some of the details, here are the questions 1.. How "safe" is the atacontrol raid feature?=20 2.. How do I rebuild an atacontrol RAID1 array on FreeBSD 4.10? Any help would be appreciated, I have been at it the whole day!
