No. Intel ESB2 includes SATA HBA, it won't work for SAS drives. Compatibility exists in other way -- SATA disks can be connected to SAS controller. Connection adapters (interposers) I saw are also assume SAS HBA and SATA HDD. -- Alexander Motin
