Lars,

I was able to script up automatic recording using ffmpeg, which supports
the FreeBSD bktr driver.  The only hard part was finding a utility to
change the channel.  I eventually switched to Linux for this task, because
I could not see TV-out support on the horizon for FreeBSD.
