Hi! I just updated the manpage for ath(4) in -HEAD. TL;DR: * 11n is fine in STA and hostap mode. I'm still debugging things, but it's usable. * multiple VAP is fine. Just put 'bssid' on the ifconfig create line so each VAP gets autoassigned a separate MAC address * WPA is supported. I even made it work on the 5210. * 5ghz is fine. * You can use both 2.4 and 5, just not simultaneously on the same card * 20 and 40MHz channel widths are fine * Everything up to the AR9565 should work okay. -a On 18 April 2014 04:32, Roman Naumann <namor@hemio.de> wrote: > Hello list members! > > I plan to buy a ath(4) supported wlan card. > > unfortunately, the man page seems out of date by several years. > It fails to mention chips newer than AR5416 and does not explain whether > 40mhz channel width is supported (and some other features). > > Other information found on the internet says: > > https://www.freebsd.org/news/status/report-2011-07-2011-09.html: > "AR5416, AR9160, and AR9280 functions in both station and hostap mode.
