No this is what failes.

Me too, I can boot with the `original' kernel.GENERIC.

It seems that MAKEDEV all creates da0a - da0h but not da0s1a, da0s3e
as are listed in my old fstab.
It seems to me the devices have changed. But I have to look for the
write readme first...
