ok, my bad on this one, 3 of the machines had different motherboards which I didnt notice till now. I buy them with assembled to my spec, but I guess they slipped in something I didnt notice :( Anyway, the mb is an ASUS tusi-m with the 630et chipset. The bios is also the latest one (1011), so no upgrade path available there. I am going to try stable on these and see if that clears up this issue.
