That is the complete opposite of my experience. I started with Linux a
couple of years ago, and have since started using FreeBSD. Of course, I
don't share the negative opinion of Linux that you seem to have.

Point is, if it hadn't been for Linux, I would probably not have
discovered FreeBSD.
