I've "reverse shoplifted" before.  Go in to a store with a copy of
FreeBSD (helps if it's the 4 disc set, and they sell similarly packaged
Linux distros) then go to the counter and try to pay for it.

Eventually they'll realise (a) they don't stock it, (b) there's a market
for it.
