Any ideas on how to fix this? > Kind of sounds like the old problem were the /etc/defaults/rc.conf file was copied to /etc/rc.conf. Check the end of your /etc/rc.conf for a script that is sourcing the ${rc_conf_files}. If there is a script, then you need to remove it.
