Hi All!

My freebsd has been crashing lately with these types
of messages left in /var/log/messages:

Mar 9 16:01:14 viper /kernel: Fatal trap 12: page
fault while in kernel mode
Mar 9 16:01:14 viper /kernel: fault virtual address
= 0x201
Mar 9 16:01:14 viper /kernel: fault code
= supervisor write, page not present
Mar 9 16:01:14 viper /kernel: instruction pointer
= 0x8:0xc011ba78
Mar 9 16:01:14 viper /kernel: stack pointer
= 0x10:0xe3417df4
Mar 9 16:01:14 viper /kernel: frame pointer
= 0x10:0xe3417e0c
Mar 9 16:01:14 viper /kernel: code segment
= base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b
Mar 9 16:01:14 viper /kernel: = DPL 0, pres 1, def32
1, gran 1
Mar 9 16:01:15 viper /kernel: processor eflags
= interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0
Mar 9 16:01:15 viper /kernel: current process
       = 50105 (httpd)
Mar 9 16:01:15 viper /kernel: interrupt mask
= net
Mar 9 16:01:15 viper /kernel: trap number
= 12
Mar 9 16:01:15 viper /kernel: panic: page fault

Also many of these messages showup aswell:
Mar 9 05:58:31 viper /kernel: fxp0: device timeout
Mar 9 07:49:24 viper /kernel: fxp0: device timeout
Mar 9 07:52:36 viper /kernel: fxp0: device timeout
Mar 9 10:43:37 viper /kernel: fxp0: device timeout
Mar 9 11:26:19 viper /kernel: fxp0: device timeout
Mar 9 12:55:29 viper /kernel: fxp0: device timeout
Mar 9 14:03:12 viper /kernel: fxp0: device timeout

I've seen many reports of people saying they have
these device timeout problems with their NICs but im
clueless about the page faults.

I've already swapped out all hardware with brand
spanking new hardware, even cabling, cooling is not an
issue.

Any idea how to get more information on whats causing
this?

Perhaps running some kind of stress tests on the HD
and memory to see if things crash?

TIA

Holt
