Did you not kill DD mode in userland? To clarify: you now support two forms of boot1, but you haven't changed boot1 to this new form, so why bother? I would rather you kill DD in boot1, disklabel, and sysinstall in 5.x for now with a ntoe from the kernel about it being deprecated and then desupport it in 6.x. Bah, nm, I lost the commit to boot1.s in my mail server's little fiasco yesterday.
