At most it can be improved by 6% at 115200 bps (sustained) or 1.5% at 28800 bps (average) on a 486DX2/66. You wouldn't notice 1.5% overhead. However, if you have 50 lines then you would notice 75% overhead. 50 lines at 28800 is only 1/7 of an ethernet's bandwidth so 75% overhead seems excessive. Bruce
