More explicit steps to reproduce, with the fetch command: 1. install, and have an Internet connection 2. make final changes when exiting FreeBSD Installer 3. freebsd-update fetch Alternatively: 1. install 2. restart the OS ("Reboot") after exiting FreeBSD Installer 3. login as root 4. have an Internet connection 5. freebsd-update fetch Either way, nothing happens.
