Earlier today I got this on a brand new 4.5-RELEASE setup: Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode mp_lock = 00000002; cpuid = 0; lapic.id = 00000000 fault virtual address = 0xffca0958 fault code = supervisor read, page not present instruction pointer = 0x8:0xc021bf60 stack pointer = 0x10:0xdf4a4e54 frame pointer = 0x10:0xdf4a4e70 code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0 current process = 60083 (exim) interrupt mask = none <- SMP: XXX trap number = 12 panic: page fault mp_lock = 00000002; cpuid = 0; lapic.id = 00000000 boot() called on cpu#0 It's a mail server running Exim. It has dual Athalon 1600MP processors on an Asus motherboard, 1 gig of ram. New hardware. Any thoughts on what this means and how I can prevent it from happening again? M.
