I agree.  In such a short amount of time it's difficult to do
sufficient testing.  I'm nervous enough making late changes to the
system even in a non-critical area.  Every additional change, even
small ones, carries more risk.

That said, I've just committed my patch with Luigi's modification to
clean up the /conf/*/etc copying.  Thanks to remote serial consoles,
I've tested it in my diskless environment before I did the final
commit and it worked like a champ:

  % uptime
   7:29PM  up 14 mins, 1 user, load averages: 0.00, 0.00, 0.00
