Anoyne working on updating packages should probably be aware of - if not have looked at - Anton Berezin's BSDPAN facility at <URL: http://www.tobez.org/download/bsdpan-2001020502.tgz > (unless there's a newer version). It extends the Perl module system so that modules are automatically installed as packages. It also makes module installation PREFIX clean, which the standard PERL module install doesn't do.
