I've got the X driver, and yes, that works out of the box. I believe the userland capture code uses the video4linux API, and there's a linux kernel module that provides that. I'd be very surprised if that worked on FreeBSD, though. I'd be more than happy to be told I'm mistaken, and that they have capture code that works on FreeBSD. I've already got Linux on the box, so I'm contemplating using that for capture.
