I have backed out my recent change to "bsd.lib.mk" that was causing c++rt0.o to be linked into every shared library. After looking into it some more, I've finally managed to explain to myself how the change could have caused the problems that people were seeing. I think it has something to do with the definitions of ___[CD]TOR_LIST__ in libgcc.a. Clearly, I need to do some more thorough investigation and testing of this :-(.
