-------- Original Message -------- Subject: twa breakage on AMD64 with 9.1.5.2 3ware version and 2005-01-11 03:00:49 UTC RELENG_5 commit Date: Thu, 13 Jan 2005 00:18:35 -0500 From: Michael Meltzer <mjm@michaelmeltzer.com> To: freebsd stable <freebsd-stable@FreeBSD.ORG> The new 3ware twa drive does not seem to work after the 2005-01-11 03:00:49 UTC RELENG_5 commit. Basically the device da is not visible to complete the boot and the system stopped asking for the root path (if their was an error message it scrolled to fast for me to see) Backed off to 5_3_0_RELEASE code to /usr/src/sys/dev/twa/* to get the system backup. FWIW the 3ware support page does NOT list amd64 freebsd support for this driver( 9.1.5.2) and 3ware seem to define the downloadable driver firmware feather in their makefile, the -D rule does not seem to have made it to the build. I tried to rebuild the code with the correct define but the firmware try to load but still had the problem. Took a look at the CVS diffs but it a large/complex change set and someone smarter than myself needs to take a look. -mjm
