Unfortunately, you forgot to provide us with the detailed information required to track such a bug. As it stands, it's neither clear to us what happened nor reproducible in any way. The only chance to get help is to send us: . exact disk information (what disk? what BIOS geometry? did the FreeBSD installation recognize the BIOS geometry or did it guess wrong?), . the exact figures of the created failing fdisk table (either C/H/S values as well as the logical sector offset/length for each fdisk partition -- a hexdump of the entire master boot record would count as a sufficient replacement in case you are not able to send us these numbers). -- cheers, J"org joerg_wunsch@uriah.heep.sax.de -- http://www.sax.de/~joerg/ -- NIC: JW11-RIPE Never trust an operating system you don't have sources for. ;-)
