The FreeBSD Handbook might usefully refer to <https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/drivers/unix/>; with hints: * to scroll down to the FreeBSD x64 section to find what's closest to the currently ported version * to then find the README under ADDITIONAL INFORMATION; and to _not_ download the driver from NVIDIA's site if the intention is to install the port – NVIDIA drivers in the FreeBSD ports collection benefit from specialist maintainance.
