>Organization:
>Environment:
multiple machines, all are i386, most use GENERIC kernel
>Description:
i am in desperate need of wireless lan here, so i bought a
Conceptronic C54RU (USB Wireless Adapter)
it is described as fully supported in the ural man page and is one of the products NOT marked as "chipset depends on hardware revision number" on http://ralink.rapla.net .
but it doesnt work. after plugging it in

ugen0: Ralink 802.11 by WLAN, rev 2.00/0.01, addr 2

appears in dmesg, but no interface device becomes available.
manually kldloading if_ural (which shouldnt be neccessary since it is compiled into GENERIC) produces this:

module_register: module uhub/ural already exists!
Module uhub/ural failed to register: 17

since i only get internet through wifi, i always have to boot up a linux-notebook (that has support for its ipw3945), so i dont even have the possibility to update one of the machines to current :(

what can i do?

thanks!
