On the other hand, it's easier to generate straight text from HTML than it
is to generate HTML from straight text ... you could keep UPDATING (or maybe
rename it to UPDATING.html) and add a simple script to strip out the HTML.
(I'd append a sample script, but the SCSI board on my FreeBSD system died
so I won't have it back up until this weekend)
