After a cvsup to RELENG_4 on March 16th, make buildworld, make kernel,
make installworld, mergemaster & reboot. Then I built & installed from
ports:
# $FreeBSD: ports/net/smbfs/Makefile,v 1.5 2001/02/27 12:07:27 bp Exp $

Yes, that is how I got as far as I did in my last email.

I've made a brand new system, with a debug GENERIC kernel & debug smbfs.ko
and no other modules loaded, and gotten it to crash... but I forgot to set
dumpdev, so I didn't get a dump :( I'm trying again to get it to fail.
