Tradition I'd say. Currently email addresses are not used stand-alone in the documentation. See http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-doc/2012-November/020720.html for the history of this scheme. Your suggestion would reduce the amount of changes in books/ and articlces/ but would increase the amount of changes in htdocs/ (and clearly authors.ent would need another overhaul). René
