Update your ports tree with cvsup and install using portsinstall (part of the sysutils/portupgrade package) or cd to the directory (after the port tree is updated) and run "make install && make clean" As difficult as I've made this sound, this is actually an easier way to update and install files than Linux. It will find depedencies automatically and download them and upgrading is a very simple process.
