I dunno who said what, but the reality is that 3.4 doesn't support the 7892
or the 7899, and 4.0 does support those chips, but only at 80MB/sec.

If you want 160MB/sec with released code, you'll need to go with 4.0 and
either Symbios or QLogic chips.
