I compiled atapicam into the kernel, as you could see in the first mail. Of course I followed the instructions in the manual. All those programs are installed and some even made suid. However, it still doesnt work right, therefore must be missing something. That's why I mailed this list ;) Rick N wrote: > breifly, at the risk of mentioning the obvious, which you may already know, did you: ? > > atapicam_load="YES" (in /boot/loader.conf), make sure the dvd+... tools port, cdrdao?, is also installed. > > actually, just re-check your settings with the FreeBSD Handbook: > http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/ > under Storage -> Creating and using Optical Media (DVDs/CDs), ... > it contains a lot of other good tips as well. > > > -hope some of this helps. > > > >> Date: Wed, 12 Aug 2009 14:14:04 +0200 >> From: rick@mitranet.nl >> To: freebsd-multimedia@freebsd.org >> Subject: Re: acd0: setting up DMA failed >> >> *BUMP* >> >> Anyone ? >> >> Rick Wezenaar wrote: >>> Hello all, >>> >>> I am getting the following error on my DVDRW drive: >>> >>> Aug 9 10:07:18 phenomium kernel: acd0: FAILURE - READ_BIG MEDIUM ERROR >>> asc=0x02 ascq=0x00 >>> Aug 9 10:07:18 phenomium kernel: (cd0:ata2:0:0:0): READ(10).
