I mount my linux partition with
mount -t ext2fs /dev/wd0s5 /mnt/linux
and I think that in your case /dev/wd1s1a should be just /dev/wd0s1
As for the modules - I have compiled my kernel with 'ext2fs' option
included but as far as I know if ext2fs support isn't in the kernel
it should dynamically load when needed
