The checksum problem is specific to bge devices and the root cause is understood. We are still contemplating how to deal with it. Most likely, we will disable txcsum per default for epair. A longer term fix will improve the bridge device to handle checksum offloading. I think that the ICMP problem is not related to this. When Timo configured the IP address not on the bge member of the bridge, but on the bridge itself, it worked.
