On Wednesday November 26, 1997, Robert Withrow <witr@spooky.rwwa.com> had this to say about "How to run doom?": > Please reply to me directly... > > I can't get doom to run...Ive read the faq, the handbook, the README, > and scanned the mail archives... Sigh. Cheap and easy way to get it running *at all* is to comment out the musserver calls (i.e. run with no sound)...then go back and figure out why your soundcard isn't working. I had doom working (without the musserver) a few weeks ago, but since then I figured out how to start x with 16-bit color (S3). Is there a way to dynamically switch video resolutions without having to start a separate X process? > > ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- > Robert Withrow, Tel: +1 617 592 8935, Net: witr@rwwa.COM > -- John-David Childs (JC612) Enterprise Internet Solutions System Administrator @denver.net/Internet-Coach/@ronan.net & Network Engineer 1031 S.
