I have a laptop with a miniPCI version of the Atheros 5005G (I'm sure it is, Vista says it and the deviceID's correspond too). Under madwifi it works as explained in this madwifi ticket: http://madwifi.org/ticket/1546 , but FreeBSD uses different code apparantly. It should be noted that hal stops with error status 3 (unable to attach device), not 13.
