Manipulating the loader disk variable currdev does nothing a= nd changing lodadev is not permitted. Which doesn't matter since the loader st= ill can't traverse the filesystem. I would like to request that this issue be escalated to critical and added = to the 12.0 errata. Since STABLE is supposedly fixed, it should be possible to identify the exact code that causes this.
