i'm having problems with something that i just can't figure for the life of me... and i've noticed it time and again over the months.... ---> ftp transfer speeds blow under fbsd i've noticed this on more than one system, with different enet cards etc. i've tested using the default ftpd daemon, and also with wu-ftp server. no matter what, xfer speeds to/from user ftp accounts are dog slow... like 4-10KBps... basically, fast modem speed. and... this is from a client box in my same room connected thru a 100mbps switch, or from my brother's 95 box 1500 miles away, who's on cable modem in short.. its NOT the client.. its fbsd... (or more likely... ME :) the speed isn't eratic, in fact, its pretty stable... but stable at SLOOOOOW speeds. is there a "throttle" that limits how fast ftp can work??? if i xfer something thru samba... its much faster..... the problem is limited to ftp (at least that i can tell) any help/hints would be most appreciated!!
