I believe the answer to your question is: 1) The index can be found at ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/i386/packages-4.0-release/INDEX (for example if you want the package index for 4.0) 2) man mount :) The command would be something like "mount -t msdos /dev/fd0 /mnt/" Hope this helps.
