As of this writing, there are 5,612 bugs in the 'New' state, out of 11,070 total. This is down from the total of over 11,600 earlier this year. In fact, in the last 365 days, 7,605 new PRs came in, and 8,275 got closed. This took a great deal of work from a large number of people. We're doing a lot better than we have, historically. We are closing more than are coming in -- a trend that has been going on for some time. But, yes, there's a tremendous backlog, and not every PR is going to be addressed in a timely fashion.
