Hello. Due to the recent advisories, on an i386 6.3 box, i just did: cd /usr/src make update make buildworld make kernel KERNCONF=MYKERNEL make installworld shutdown -r now Now "uname -a" reports 6.3p13, although "cat /usr/src/UPDATING" gives: ... 20091203: p14 FreeBSD-SA-09:15.ssl, FreeBSD-SA-09:17.freebsd-update Disable SSL renegotiation in order to protect against a serious protocol flaw. [09:15] Fix permissions in freebsd-update in order to prevent leakage of sensitive files. [09:17] ... I think the above does not affect the kernel; in fact I recompiled it just to be able to check the OS version with uname. Just curious on whether this is normal... bye & Thanks av.
