In general, this is the case, yes. But one should still see that the
overall security is a bit lower as a second failing drive in a row
will result in a serious problem, for RAID1 it would have to be the
twin that has to fail in order to create a real problem. In all cases,
RAID 1 is way simpler to implement properly.
