That would be very good. After a server has been running for a while the boot info gets displaced out of the buffer dmesg accesses, and the logs in /var/log would typically have been rolled over and removed as well. On my servers I run an rc.d script which stores the dmesg output for future reference. Is something like that worth adding to the standard distribution?
